Places to Stay when diving with SALT
Since we get so many accommodation requests, we have released a new page on SALT - Where to Stay when diving in Dominica with SALT! It can be hard to figure out where to stay in Dominica, but we make it easy. Here are the top 3 places to stay rated by our staff & divers!
We start closest to our shop with Toucari Cottages - 3 self serve cottages fully outfitted to meet your needs. Treetops, the ‘studio’ style cottage for solo travelers or couples, Coconut Cottage; the 2 bedroom at the top overlooking everything, and Mango Lodge the 3bedroom with expansive outdoor living space tucked in the middle. All are within walking distance to the beach, and the SALT shipping container, but please note the hill is steep from SALT up to treetops and it only gets steeper up to mango and coconut- but thanks to this hill you get privacy and VIEWS! (all cottages have ocean view)
Hideaways at TiBay Heights is a short drive away in Picard, stunning views & well appointed cottages with the perks of onsite hosts who offer local breakfasts and baked goods as well as their extensive knowledge of the Nature Island. Guests are always blown away by the treehouse feel of the upper levels, and how open to nature they really are! Made and FouFou cottages are conveniently located close to the restaurants and groceries of Picard and coconut beach but nestled above it all in a private location.
Mango Garden Cottages, just south of Toucari but tucked away in heights of Tanetane at the foothills of the mountains, it feels a world away from the sea, but just a short drive away. 2 Studios and a 2bedroom villa, surrounded by lush gardens this bright and sunny spot is more like having your own apartment set in nature rather than the town and makes you feel like you are deeper in the country. The owners are both wonderful tour guides and fountains of information for your stay!
